Dan Coulter was elected as the MLA for Chilliwack in 2020. He initially served as the Parliamentary Secretary for Accessibility. As chair of the Chilliwack Board of Education from 2013-20, he was a strong advocate for improvements to the public education system. As a former president of CUPE 3787 and a millwright who was severely injured in a workplace accident in 1999, Dan believes people have the right to safe working conditions. Dan is passionate about the rehabilitation of youth in the criminal justice system and was a director for the Chilliwack Restorative Justice Society.

Dan is a strong advocate for the community of Chilliwack and understands the need for continued government investment in our growing city. During Dan's term, Chilliwack has received funding for many important capital projects, including new schools and school additions, accessible playgrounds, supportive housing projects and an Urgent Primary Care Centre. Dan has also been working on the much-needed Highway 1 expansion, with plans to widen the highway all the way to Chilliwack.
