On April 6, Vancouver Whitecaps FC hosted the club’s third annual Vaisakhi Celebration Match at BC Place, aiming to make the event the third largest Vaisakhi celebration in Metro Vancouver after the parades in Vancouver and Surrey. Fans were out in full force, taking in the festivities and watching the home side put on a show. The event was highlighted by performances from the Crown Prince of Bhangra himself, world-renowned recording artist and Surrey’s own Jazzy B.

BC Place was vibrant, featuring specially designed scarves from Jessie Sohpaul, with performances also featured from DJ Heer, as well as Shan E Punjab Arts Club dancers and dhol drummers, and a march to the match down Robson street with the Sikh Motorcycle Club. National anthems were sung by the talented Jugpreet Bajwa, while players from Surrey FC took part in the opening procession.

On the field, the ‘Caps continued an excellent start to their 50th Anniversary season, dominating Canadian rivals Toronto FC with a 4-0 victory in front of 24,678 fans. The team has been at the top of the Western Conference standings in MLS and looks to be a contender for the MLS Cup this season. Star players Ryan Gauld and Brian White both scored for Whitecaps FC, while defender Ranko Veselinovic and new signing Fafa Picault also scored. In the net, Japanese goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka came up with big saves when he was called into action.

\n

On May 25, the team will be selling out BC Place with over 50,000 fans as they welcome Inter Miami CF to Vancouver for the first time, who include the legendary Lionel Messi on their team.

\n

Season Tickets are sold out for 2024, but a waitlist is now available for 2025. Single match tickets and group tickets are still available for all matches. For all of the latest news and information on tickets, visit whitecapsfc.com.
