RunSurreyRun 2024: A celebration of community and success

The 2024 RunSurreyRun, held on September 8, was a resounding success, thanks to the incredible support of our Community Partner, RBC, and Platinum Partner, the City of Surrey, alongside our generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, media partners, and charity partners. This year’s event saw nearly 700 participants come together to celebrate Surrey’s diversity and inclusivity, making it a day to remember.

The race not only brought the community together but also showcased Surrey’s dynamic landscape to a national audience through widespread media coverage. From local Olympians and elite runners to families with toddlers in strollers and our eldest participant, aged 87, everyone embraced the spirit of the event. RunSurreyRun stands as the city’s only road race, and its growing popularity signals an even larger turnout for 2025.

In addition to the fun and fitness, the event raised nearly $5,000 directly to the charity partners, underscoring the power of community involvement.

Race Director Gurjinder K. Bhurji expressed, “It was such an incredible day and so cool to see the busy Surrey streets full of runners and walkers. The community support exceeded our expectations and has us extremely excited for the future. We are truly grateful to have such amazing partners and a thriving community in Surrey.”
