"You’re too old for this."

\nFor many seeking something new and challenging beyond the age of 50, hearing this phrase is all too common. Society often places time limits on dreams and age limits on goals. Yet, Polly’s story defies these conventions. At 57, this businesswoman and mother of two is preparing to participate in fitness competitions, proving that age is no barrier to staying fit and living life to the fullest.\n\n“In fact, working out and eating right can reverse your age,” Polly confidently states.\n\n

A Journey from Punjab to Canada

\nHailing from Punjab, India, Polly immigrated to Canada at a young age after getting married. She initially settled in Mackenzie, B.C., before moving to Vancouver. In 1998, Polly introduced Delta to its first Quiznos Sub, followed by Fresh Slice Pizza a few years later. Throughout her career, Polly always prioritized quality and service, building a strong foundation for success.\n\n

The Missing Piece

\nDespite her professional achievements, Polly felt something was missing. Determined to make herself a priority, she turned to fitness, meditation, and other holistic practices. Last year, at the age of 56, Polly joined the gym and began training for fitness competitions, making health and wellness her primary goals.\n\n“I’ve always lived a healthy lifestyle, but my career was my focus for the longest time. I wanted to change that and make my well-being a priority instead,” she explains. While she had been meditating and practicing yoga for years, hitting the gym was a new and transformative experience.\n\n \n

A Supportive Network

\nPolly’s family played a significant role in her fitness journey. Her sister, Reena, encouraged her to embrace this new path, while her father, a source of strength and resilience, served as her lifelong mentor.\n\nPolly starts each day with yoga, meditation, and exercise. She believes, “Fitness keeps you young and healthy. If I can do it at this age, so can others. Age is just a number; you are as young as you feel. I feel like I’m 25 years old and ready to compete.”\n\n
