ODD SQUAD PRODUCTION SOCIETY GALA FUNDRAISER
Created in 1997 by seven Vancouver City Police officers and currently comprised of serving and retired police officers and volunteers, Odd Squad Productions Society is a registered not-for-profit charitable organization that empowers youth to make positive life choices about drug use and criminal behaviour through educational material as well as documentaries and is recognized as an international leader in the field of drug and gang education for youth.
\nOdd Squad ascribes to the notion that ‘an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure’ and that drug prevention and education programs are a much more effective and a healthier investment for our youth than treatment. Using a unique combination of documentary films, presentations, peer-to-peer workshops and judo-based training, Odd Squad members strive to help guide today’s youth through the difficult personal and social issues such as drug usage and addiction, gang recruitment and involvement with their unique realitybased educational programs.\n\n
\n\nAs part of the continuous support from the Brian Jessel Foundation and their local CSR strategy to support the local charities, NGOs and organisations which help our community members, Brian Jessel BMW has joined these efforts through the sponsorship of the program over the next 3 years to assist youth in choosing to live healthy, drug free lives through Odd Squad. The announcement was made this past Thursday, March 25th, where the team of Brian Jessel BMW was joined for a press conference by Vancouver Police Deputy Chief Steve Rai and Rob Rothwell, along with several members of the Gala Organizing Committee, Odd Squad and Board of Directors. The small event focused on discussing the opportunities for growth and creativity the past year presented for OSP, as well as showcasing the 3, 5 and X3 PHEV, along with future BMW products the iX and i4, as to share the support and vision for a cooperative future.\n\nThrough programs and activities offered in a safe and caring environment, the Odd Squad Society is engaged with reaching out to thousands of youths in Greater Vancouver and throughout our province to help educate them about the results of illicit drug abuse and gang life activity.\n\n
\n\nDonations made to Odd Squad Productions help the organization in delivering valuable and needed realitybased education on the consequences of engaging in risky behaviour to thousands of youths in the Lower Mainland, throughout B.C, and across Canada. The Brian Jessel BMW team believes in connecting with Odd Squad’s mission of aiding the community by teaching the youth personal and social responsibility through healthier choices such as sport and physical activity to promote independent thinking, self confidence and resiliency skills.\n\nTo find out more about the City Reach Care Society and their multiple programs, visit: http://www. cityreach.org\n\nAbout Brian Jessel BMW\n\nAs the leading BMW dealership in Canada, Brian Jessel BMW is a landmark and an active partner in the community.
