Amit Midda turning his dreams into reality

To a casual observer it might seem that Canada chose Amit Midda but definitely not to an observant one, who looking at his meteoric rise to business stardom will know for sure, it is Amit who chose Canada!

Having arrived here four years back, in 2018, with nothing more than a suitcase of personal belongings and a flickering of hope, he set about making a life for himself in the country of his dreams, Canada, in Beautiful British Columbia. He soon realized just hope nor dream was good enough, he had to somehow turn his dream slowly but surely into a reality! However, his corporate dream in India had been fully realized in an esteemed position of VP of a software multinational company, that to, at a very young age of 29, leading a group of professionals, some even older to him. But in Canada, the success back home, did not count for much, he had to find a way to do it all over again.

To make a decent living and a good life for himself! At the same time, he realized that success does not come overnight, so he wisely chose a career one to his liking dramatically opposite to the one in India to that of a media person, covering entertainment and corporate events & company conferences, as also doing freelance assignments for others. But soon and regretfully, it dawned on him, that although he enjoyed the work and the immense contacts he made along the way, his sincere efforts were just not commensurate with compensation. Then, one fine morning, a brilliant idea struck him like a bolt from the blue, why not replicate his father’s business in India, and still be involved in media as an extension and part, of the exciting world of Sky Mart Inc., a Shipping & Logistics endeavour, which was to become his calling card.

Commencing operations from a tiny office in the sprawling commercial complex of York Centre, Surrey; Sky Mart, Inc.’, is presently serving happy customers from 7 Sky Mart locations across Mainland Vancouver, as also through a few owner/operator franchises, a Sky Mart store in Edmonton, and with plans of adding new locations in cities across the length and breadth of Canada.

Amit has also accomplished a long-cherished dream by venturing into the world of Bollywood ‘live’ entertainment, a show titled ‘The Magnificent 4’, under the banner of Midda Productions, in collaboration with Gurinder Sodhi, by taking baby steps in getting the winners of the Sony Indian Idol singers to the shores of Vancouver, for a concert performance at the Orpheum Theatre on 5th December, 2021. Being the humble and courteous gentleman he is, he takes this opportunity to thank his friends and colleagues for their good wishes along the path to a fulfilling life and work in his dream country - Canada!
